Double Flank Gear Roll Tester
Double Flank gear testing is considered a composite testing approach to gear measurement. It measures the “composite” of Index, Helix (lead), Profile and Runout errors in a gear.
Double flank testing consists of rolling two gears together in tight mesh (preloaded one against another without backlash) and measuring the center distance deviation as the parts rotate 360°. One of the gears in mesh is a master gear with very small elementals errors and the other is the component to be tested. After rotating for 360°, a chart is created showing the center distance variation between the two gears.

Automatic Gear Burnisher
APV-3 Roll Burnisher
The APV 3-Roll Burnisher removes nicks, burrs, heat-treat scale or other foreign matter from the gear tooth flanks. This is accomplished through a cam-activated,
oscillating action between the three burnishing gears and the component.
With its automatic loader, the APV receives parts from either rolling type automation or a manual loading chute.
The automatic loader accepts one part per cycle into the oscillating part lifter for fast and reliable loading.
The part lifter has two positions so that both loading and unloading are simultaneous with the burnishing cycle. After the part lifter has advanced a new part to the working elevations, a shuttle loader/part stripper moves the part to the burnishing position in a positive, jam-proof manner.
The total floor-to-floor cycle time is only seconds per part and is variable,
based on the size of nicks to be removed and the geometry of the component
Laser Welding Systems
PECo has been integrating laser welding systems and manufacturing lines for over 20 years and welding systems for over 60. More than 260 PECo laser welding systems are installed worldwide.
Our experience gives us the edge when it comes to designing and developing the most effective laser welding systems on the market. From this experience we have optimized our laser welding platform to always include features such as vibration isolators, poke-yoke part verification, PECo’s unique positive pressure beam delivery system, and real-time weld power monitoring.
Marking & Traceability
Solve your parts marking and traceability problems with a PECoMARK Laser or Dot Peen Marking System!
PECoMARK Systems can generate easily readable alpha-numeric characters, symbols, logos, bar codes, UID codes, OCR codes, 2D data matrices, custom graphics or schematics, part & serial numbers, photo etchings, logos, and more for permanent part identification. By integrating a large variety of pre-qualified and proven system modules, PECo will design and manufacture the best Laser or Dot Peen Marking System for your application.
PECo's experienced designers and engineers will also be glad to develop and/or integrate new modules to meet your specific requirements.
Laser Marking
Our laser marking system technology can be applied to just about any material. Laser marking is the only non-contact marking solution for etching and engraving metal, ceramics, composites, rubber and more! It's clean, repeatable, readable, fast and low maintenance.
Dot Peen Marking
PECo's Dot Peen Marking System uses a tungsten carbide stylus to cold-form dots with a low-stress, accurate compressive force. The Dot Peen Marking System is electronically controlled and generates easily readable alpha-numeric characters of various sizes and depths for permanent identification on hard or soft materials with flat or uneven surfaces.
Broach Sharpening Analyzer
Reduce your cost and extend your broach's life with PECo's Broach Sharpening Analyzer. By allowing you to accurately assess the smallest amount of material that needs to be removed to return your broach to its "sharpened" condition, the Broach Sharpening Analyzer enables you to remove no more than is absolutely necessary – extending the broach's useful life, reducing your sharpening costs and postponing the purchase of replacement broaches.
Master Gears
PECo offers a variety of Spur and Helical Master Gears and Master Worms for the purpose of composite gear roll testing and/or to serve as inspection machine calibration artifacts. Master Gears can be designed and manufactured to meet your specific application requirements or PECo can provide standard master gears up to and including ISO/DIN Q3, AGMA 2015-A3, and JIS quality standards. All PECo Master Gears are designed, manufactured, and supplied, complete with inspection certificates, to meet your specific application requirements.
Spline Gauges
PECo offers a variety of functional Go and No-Go composite and variable indicating Spline Gauges to support your inspection needs. All PECo Spline Gauges are designed, manufactured, and supplied, complete with inspection certificates, to meet your specific application requirements.
To verify our inspection system accuracy, we maintain gear artifacts which have direct traceability with the NIST–Y12 US standards laboratory.
